Continuing its ongoing partnership with CPR, FAILSPACE has organized an evening of works-in-progress from its community of artists and organizers. The program will include work by Sarah Chien, and Amelia Heintzelman with music collaborator Tommy Martinez.

Sarah Chien will share two short pieces that are part of a larger project Nothing But Us, a series of duets which explores intimacies with everyday things, and what we can learn from them. Each duet is with a dancer and an unconventional partner, such as a portable speaker, an extension cord, or a collection of local weeds. There will also be a series of drawings on view in the gallery.

Amelia Heintzelman will show new work created with music collaborator Tommy Martinez, performed with Juli Brandano.

After the presentations, there will be a feedback mechanism moderated by FAILSPACE.

Open Studios is a series of work-in-progress showings held regularly throughout the year, and serves as an incubator for new work, inviting the public into the artistic process. Each installment is curated by an invited guest, and features a diverse group of artists, performance-makers, choreographers, and dancers. Each program culminates in a conversation with the artists and organizers, where audiences are invited and encouraged to share their feedback.
