The Reading Group will be led by CPR 2021 Technical Resident Ni’Ja Whitson, in conjunction with their residency at CPR in Fall 2021.

In Performance Philosophy Reading Group we read exhilarating and thought-provoking texts as a springboard into generative discussion and thought-experimentation, engaging with texts in whatever way seems most productive.

A short note from Ni'Ja: “I am here for the dreaming...I am here for us interrogating the spaces where Black imagination and dreaming is attacked. These writings were selected because of the discussion of Black transness and Black femmes, of dreaming and critiques of a space (digital media) that has been disrupting my liberation! I also chose these works because I am currently wrestling with "visibility" as a concept and have been seeking more sources to critique this in general while I am making work that ‘visibilizes’”.
