CPR opens its doors for an afternoon of performance, activation, and celebration, with a collaborative and cyclical score of work in development by CPR 2021 Artists-in-Residence Nami Yamamoto and Lu Yim, joined by artist lisa nevada.

Inhabiting CPR’s studios and outside on Manhattan Avenue (weather permitting), Nami Yamamoto presents a durational practice with prosthetic body parts, and Lu Yim will create environments outside of our field of vision, conjuring ghosts and ancestors with movement and sound scores.

As we welcome artists and audiences back to CPR for live performance, lisa nevada engages visitors in lullaby; an offering / a cleansing / a blessing, intended to conjure the lasting energy of harmony and healing, using modulation and repetitiveness, and guided by the wisdom and teachings of mama earth and the great ancestors.

Visitors can engage with the score at any point throughout the afternoon.

Tea will be served courtesy of our neighbors at 3rd Floor Brooklyn, and freshly-shucked oysters courtesy of our friends from World’s Your Oyster Co.

Sunday Salon is an extension of CPR’s Artist-in-Residence (AiR) Program, and provides a platform for AiRs to share their current practice with the larger CPR and NYC performance community. Sunday Salon may take many forms, including presentations of live work, artist talks, and presentations of research, materials, and ephemera.

Important note regarding Covid-19:
The safety of CPR’s artists, visitors, and staff is our top priority.
